ART Therapy
Tracey, a qualified art therapist has almost two decades of experience working in the fields of children, young people and their families, and mental health. She has worked as an art therapist in a variety of roles and settings, for a large part of this time, including working with children and young people in voluntary and educational settings. She has worked as a counsellor and art therapist in the education sector for over five years. During this time she has worked with both primary and secondary-aged children / young people. She is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as an Art Therapist. She is also a full member of the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT).
Each Session Lasts 1 hour - catch up with friends in the cafe afterwards.
Aim: To provide a flexible and safe environment so that participants can explore themselves and their creativity and be accepting of who they are and what they do. Its overall purpose is to promote opportunities for parent and child relationship building, relaxation, autonomy, and agency, with an emphasis on young people gaining expressing their ideas thoughts and feeling. This is hoped to be achieved by embracing the following
objectives:
- Recognise and increase strengths.
- To provide opportunities for parent-child relationship building.
- Provide opportunities for relaxation, enjoyment, and fun.
- Value own communication preferences
- Value own play preferences
- Value own learning preferences
- Promote autonomy, agency, and self-advocacy.
- Promote the sharing and collaboration that comes from working as a group.
- Promoting peer networking and a sense of community
