Sarah's Story
Sarah and her boys have been part of our Early Intervention community since April 2022.
They first joined us at our first sensory and messy play session, which was funded by Cash for Kids.
Since then, the family has taken part in a wide range of inclusive activities and experiences that might otherwise have been difficult for them to access.
Over the past four years, Jaxson has shown significant growth in his confidence, communication and social participation.
He has also developed strong leadership skills and now takes an active role as a junior helper, supporting us with setting up and tidying away themed play activities and parties. His kindness, enthusiasm and leadership qualities are consistently evident and continue to flourish.
A family helping other families
Sarah has also volunteered with us for two years, sharing her lived experience and using her creativity to make props and themed activities for our events. She enjoys taking part in activities with the children and helping to create a friendly, welcoming space. Her commitment and positive attitude help make Early Intervention a place where families feel comfortable, supported and able to get involved.

“We have been attending Early Intervention for four years. This has enabled us to access a variety of activities and resources, including messy play, therapy dogs, art therapy, crafts and private events at places such as Smugglers Cove and Wynford Farm.
Soft-play facilities are usually far too busy during regular opening hours for my children to enjoy.
I’ve seen my children’s confidence grow through these experiences. They have particularly supported Jaxson’s social and communication skills, helping him to develop and flourish.
When we first attended the party and stay-and-play sessions, he was overwhelmed. With gentle support and gradual introductions, he was able to build his confidence and overcome this challenge.
Every child deserves opportunities that help them grow and flourish. We have met so many lovely people and made so many new friends on this journey, while also having the opportunity to meet others on journeys of their own.
Every family’s journey looks different, but we are all united by the same goal—supporting our children. Parents, grandparents, friends and families come together to create a safe place where children can be their true selves and socialise in a way that works for them.
