Leigh Story

Leo and his family first joined Early Intervention two years ago and have been active members of our community ever since.
Leo is autistic and has additional medical needs, which can make aspects of everyday life and accessing suitable activities more challenging.
Leo and his family continue to embrace new opportunities with positivity and determination, becoming valued members of the wider Early Intervention community.
Opportunities to Take Part
Finding activities that are safe, suitable and enjoyable can be difficult for families of children with additional and medical needs.
Through relaxed and inclusive sessions, Leo has been able to try new experiences, enjoy activities alongside other children and participate in a way that works for him.
These opportunities allow Leo and his family to make memories together without the pressure and uncertainty that can sometimes make ordinary family activities difficult to access.
A Family Giving Back
Leo’s family have not only taken part in Early Intervention - they have also worked incredibly hard to help create opportunities for other children and families.
The family first raised an incredible £920 through a Christmas raffle. They then raised a further £610 by taking part in the Kiltwalk, with their fundraising topped up by an additional £500 contribution from Arnold Clark.
Together, this support has helped Early Intervention continue providing affordable and inclusive activities for children and families across our community.
Leigha shared
“Over the past few years, Early Intervention has made a huge difference for our family.
It has given Leo the chance to take part in fun, safe and supportive activities—spaces where he can truly enjoy himself without feeling overwhelmed.
It means he does not have to miss out on experiences every child deserves.”
